DTE - RS-232 to TTL

  • RS-232 to TTL converter
  • The DTE (PC) has the male connector

  • The DCE (peripheral) has the female.

H1 Connector (Rev 1)

  • Pins signal directions are reversed from an FTDI card
    • Can be directly wired to FTDI connector
  1. GND
  2. CTS (out)
  3. VCC
  4. TX (in)
  5. Rx (out)
  6. RTS (in)
  • Pins 4 and 6 are backwards on Rev 1 card - corrected on Rev 2 card

H1 Connector (Rev 2)

  • Signal referenced to H1 connector

Test Procedure

  • FTDI-49MM
  • DCE/DTE Cards
    • Plugged together
  • FTDI loopback cable
  • Run PuTTY
    • 115,200 baud, RTS/CTS
  • Type and it comes back
